The actor behind the director
A director who knows the other side of the camera.
I am an actor as well as a director. Playing Hamlet onstage and Javier in my own film, SHINE, connects me to the work from the inside: listening, making choices, taking risks, and finding something truthful in the moment.
That experience shapes how I work with actors. I aim to give direction that is specific and playable, create room for discovery, and build the trust a performance needs. The camera and the production should serve that work.
My training includes the two-year Meisner acting program at the William Esper Studio with Bruce McCarty, and a BFA in Voice from the Boston Conservatory of Music. Theatre, voice, movement, and work on camera inform the way I approach a scene.
